1. What were you frustrated with or what problems were you experiencing before you hired Marcella Treybig Photography?
We’d been getting lots of postcards and emails from wedding photographers via The Knot’s mailing list, but their style wasn’t really “us”.  We really wanted someone who could capture our personalities and someone who “got” us.  We also were on a tight budget, and many of the other photographers were offering extra services we didn’t necessarily need.

2. How did we help in your wedding experience?
After reviewing our options with Marcella, we knew we could trust her to capture all of our special moments on our wedding day.  She had such great ideas for everything, from sign-in book ideas to wedding album ideas.  And the engagement photos we shot with her were exactly what we envisioned!  We loved that she incorporated our love for antique things in the images and everyone felt our photos were spot-on in portraying us.  We displayed them at our wedding and they really helped contribute to the vintage vibe we wanted for our day.

She also made us feel really comfortable in front of the camera — I (Danielle) am pretty shy in front of cameras, and I usually  have a hard time being serious when there’s a lens pointed at me.  My husband (Tommy) was a theatre major and is accustomed to having all eyes on him, so being in front of a camera was no problem for him.  Very early on into the engagement shoot, I felt like I totally forgot there was a camera documenting all of our silliness.

3. What would you tell other brides that are thinking about hiring Marcella Treybig Photography for their wedding?
We highly recommend hiring Marcella for your engagement and wedding photos.  She listened to our needs every step of the way and always had amazing ideas for shoot locations, props and more — You need a creative person to be able to capture the perfect look and feel for your photos; someone who really understands the couple’s personalities in order to get it right. Marcella is definitely this person!  I always find I have a smile on my face anytime I look at our photos, and never once have I thought, “If only we had a photo of…” We really do have her to thank for all the beautiful memories of our wedding day (and boy, that day goes by fast!).
