Bride Interview With Marcella Treybig Photography
Please take a moment to read this before hiring Marcella and her photography team.
How long have you been a photographer and how did you become a photographer?
I have been a photographer since junior year in high school. I took classes, developed my own film and prints, entered contests in the orange county fair (winning a few), and spent all my money on film and developing. I’m one of those photographers that just KNEW that photography was what I loved and what I was going to do for a living. Its been 9 years now and I have grown and furthered my education by completing internships for fashion catalogs, doing some traveling and becoming an alumni at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. I have professionally been photographing weddings since 2006.
Weddings and Photography are kinda in the family so that’s how I became a ‘wedding photographer’ my aunt is a professional freelance nature photographer & my mother owns a custom linen company. Then there is me![]()
We love your services and your portfolio, everything looks fantastic… can you tell me what sets you apart from all the photographers out there?
I value each wedding as if it were my own. truly. Long before your wedding day, I am planning and collecting information that will help me get the best photographs from every perspective. From the guest perspective, yours, your future husbands, florist, venue, and all the details. That is why I don’t charge by the hour, I am committed to you for the entire day, from sun up to sun down and weeks before. I do things like visiting the location ahead of time, and getting myself aquatinted with your coordinator to work as a team so your day flows by.
What makes you different? whats your story?
My photographic style is timeless and true. In the day of digital photography and photo shopping everything, I’ve grown to really appreciate the real talent and beauty in capturing an accurate image of what I am photographing. Sure I dabble in cool photo shop actions or adding texture to an image, but I want to capture something timeless, that through all these trends of really bright, orange warm, and blurred images that you walk away with downright great real photographs. My approach always changes, if I’m photographing you and your new husband I’m a portrait photographer. If I’m photographing the room or landscape I’m a architectural photographer. If I’m photographing flowers I’m doing it from a florists perspective, and if I’m photographing the reception I’m a journalist.
This all sounds so wonderful, but it also sounds expensive. Are we going to be able to afford this?
I am really flexible with my clients, that is why my packages are designed by you, the bride. You can pick and choose what works for your needs and your budget, I also retain the digital negatives (high resolution .jpeg files) for several years so if you can’t afford to buy them right away, they will be available to you when your budget allows. When it comes to traveling for destination weddings I offer some great money back incentives that will make the decision of travel an inexpensive and easy one. Also, I’m moving my business to Maryland (6%) so if I do business in California (8.75%-and on the rise!) you can save big with the sales tax, making the flight literally pay for itself.
Who do you work best with?
Everyone. I literally have never met any vendors that I have not worked well with. I’m a good communicator and I come prepared.
Will you have a second shooter at the wedding?
I have second, third, forth photographer options if you would like to add more shooters to your custom photographic package. They can be added by the hour or by the day. I have worked with many photographers and have solid working relationships with all of them.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes! I always bring 2 cameras with me & if you add additional photographers there will be even more equipment available. When it comes to backing up your images, I take great care and copy them onto multiple hard drives and they are also stored on your online client gallery as long as it is remains active.
Do you take credit cards and can we have a payment plan?
I do take credit cards via PayPal, you do not need to have an account with them to make a credit card payment. It’s easy and all done online from your home or office at the time of signing to reserve your date. Payments are always made in two parts, so it’s easy to plan your funds.
Do you take more than one wedding per day?
I only photograph one wedding per day, always. So if your looking to book a popular date … like 11.11.11 then book soon. I am committed to you for the full day and I do not change by the hour.
