Jared and Michelle were looking to do a small wedding that really reflected “them” as a couple and I think all the awesome DIY touches this stylish bride did really set her wedding on that course. Michelle went thrift shopping to find all those awesome brooches she had in her bouquet, I could get lost looking at all the unique and meaningful choices she made in just that one wedding detail. Jared is an artist, he works on cars (which is why I photographed the bouquet near tires) and does some awesome custom paint jobs – which is why they chose to wear shirts “suits just isn’t who we are” I remember him saying. They got all the guys personalized ones with their names on them and a custom knife too. He made the coffin and painted the text on the box. Their families made and provided the buffet of delicious food and they gave skull shot glasses as favors. When it came time to do ‘toasts’ they had SHOTS – Jack Daniels of course! When dinner rolled around so did a sudden flash flood!!! the rain just POURED for 30min and there was no indoor area to retreat to (just a tin roof covering exposed on all sides) – so what did they do?! F*UCK IT- they cut the cake and had a food fight!!!! this instigated from the bride (who’s a hair stylist) that said she didn’t want to get any cake on her face 🙂 They had a great time and so did everyone there – despite any unplanned showers.
