Let me start by telling you that I’ve been meaning to blog these for a LOOOooong time now, so please forgive me. This post is also big (naturally) and I don’t want to break the wedding into more than one post.
I think this is a pretty ‘Momentous Wedding’ someone should ‘e-mail a tip to amazing photojournalistic work’ to Moment Junkie … hint hint. Ok. Here’s the link - http://www.momentjunkie.com/submission-guidelines/ - they don’t take submissions directly from the photographer/studio who shot it.
Rob & Ani are from southern california, but had a destination wedding in Prague, czech republic. It was suggested by Ani’s uncle to look into having her wedding there, he loved the area and saw many couples getting married when he visited. Well Ani and Rob looked into it, never having visited themselves and just simply fell in love with the charm and idea of having a destination wedding that their close family and friends could be there for. The price was also very reasonable she said! Ani’s mother (an opera singer) sang ‘Ave Maria’ acoustically during the ceremony accompanied by a late century organ in the church. After their ceremony at the St. Nicholas Church in the old town square they had their reception at the Grand Hotel Bohemia which was another gorgeous historical venue featuring gold leaf painted detail on the walls. Simply stunning! From their Ani & Rob went off to travel europe for a few weeks on their honey moon!
This was my very first time in Europe and I can’t wait to go back. I had the opportunity to walk around and do a few touristy things in the area, full post on my travel experience coming up in the next blog post on Tuesday! Have a great weekend!
The ceilings in this place were nuts! I hit my head at least once. It was interesting photographing a wedding in another country, especially one so different culturally, because the makeup artist brought her 8 year old son with her in a room full of naked-half naked women getting ready.Rob’s Mommie!Gorgeous bride!!The groom!Yes… this was right before the ceremonyThe guys were really worked up and not into taking photos, so I took them to go get a drink at this Cuban restaurant… when in Rome. And… Yes… these are CUBAN CIGARS! I was a hero.Arial view of the Old Town Square and the St. Nicholas Church.I cried when Ani’s mom started singing. “Ave Maria” gets me every time Robs grandmother grabbed them a couple beers while they were making their round around the block in the getaway car. So awesome!Everyone was admiring and wishing them the best. The famous Charles Bridge!the party was already underway…why stop now… MORE BEER!
Apparently a very popular destination wedding spot!
